"Picasso's girls at the Met"

Here are portraits I've done from photos. If you'd like one of you or a loved one it will cost $600 unframed and I will work with you on the quality of the photos I need. Ideally, a good setup will have a single light source that emphasizes the play of light and shadow.

I suggest a strong light source to make shadows more defined and easier to see. It could be as simple as a household light bulb directed at your model. You might consider taking the pictures outdoors on a sunny day and let the sun be your light source. Try and avoid a 50-50 distribution of light and shadow on the face. A better ratio would be 75 to 25 and that could be set up either way. You could arrange to have 75% light and 25% shadow or the other way around. For more dramatic effect you could even go 90% to 10% but if you choose this ratio it would be better to have the shadow be the 90%.
